Going into this project, I knew I wanted to feature detailed elements that created texture and flow. I felt partially inspired by Dyrlaga's piece and her ability to create cohesive flow on a microscopic level. My second piece of inspiration was made by Shibata. I found the particular shape of this piece very compelling and new. I wanted to follow this shape in my mountainscape.  In process photos 

  "Indian Yellow" was created on Photoshop.  The color inspiring this piece is Indian yellow. This piece drew inspiration from the book "Secret Lives of Color." The color Indian yellow dates back to the 1700's where it was produced using limited food intake and cow urine. The controversy with animal abuse and this color eventually led it to be banned from production altogether.  This is where I found the inspiration for this piece. I wanted to merge the physical color with historical facts while also representing animal cruelty in the present day. To do this, I found a stock image of an Indian cow and began rasterizing the image, along with manipulating the color. I wanted to include both the ear tag and rope halter, which I thought embodied the past and present of animal cruelty.  "Peppered Moth"  The color behind this piece is "Charcoal". Experimental Sculpture Collection. This collection consists of three paper sculptures: repetitive swirl (left), Negative frame (center), and abstract spiral (right). Repetitive spiral, this sculpture had to communicate repetition seen through the multitude of rolled paper, creating the spiral effect.  This sculpture was constructed using mixed media paper, tacky glue, tape, and gesso paint. The repetitive spiral stands at just over 12 inches tall by 7 inches wide, due to its abstract nature and organic shape; all measurements vary.  Negative frame, designed with abstract negative space in mind. This piece uses a recycled wooden frame and floral wire to create a non-representational sculpture. Other materials used in this piece include glue and tape. This piece uses elements of line, color, and texture. Elements of color and texture are found throughout Trenton's piece, seen in aspects of different collage pieces throughout his life.
